Bags to Riches | Donation Program

In 2023, J&H Outdoors started an initiative that combines our commitment to the environment with our dedication to making a positive impact in our community. We're calling it the "Bags to Riches" Donation Program.

What is "Bags to Riches"?

"Bags to Riches" is a unique program designed to turn refused shopping bags at checkout into opportunities for giving back. When a customer chooses to decline a bag during their purchase, we at J&H Outdoors will donate the equivalent cost of that bag to a charity chosen by our employees and, ultimately, decided by you, our customers.

How It Works:

1. Customer Choice: When you decide to go bag-free with your purchase, you're also choosing to participate in "Bags to Riches."
2. Donation Calculation: The cost of the bag you declined will be tallied, and this amount will be earmarked for charitable giving to one of four options.
3. Charity Selection:  After checkout, you will have the option to donate to one of four charities by placing a poker chip into your selected charity, curated by our team. We invite you to cast your vote for the charity you'd like to see benefit from the "Bags to Riches" program.
4. Giving Back: Once the voting period concludes, we will proudly donate the funds accumulated to the charities, making a collective impact that extends beyond the walls of our store.
5. The Twist:  The charities will rotate evenly and can be voted upon for a total of 5 months.  The winning charity of the first 5 months of the year will compete with the winner of the second 5 months of the year.  At the end of the voting period, the charity that receives the most votes (poker chips) will move to the final round.  The final round, held in November and December, where the top 2 charities will have a chance to win $10,000 from J&H Outdoors.
